Martin Bashir of MSNBC nominated for Saul Alinsky Smear Conservatives Award

June 12 conference also considers Rep. Elijah Cummings, seeks other nominees

Martin Bashir has been nominated for the “Saul Alinsky Smear Conservatives Award” of the Freedom Leadership Conference of Wednesday, June 12, 2013, for saying that “IRS is the new N word” on his leftist propaganda MSNBC TV show last week.

Bashir claims that critics of Barack Obama are now using the word “IRS” in place of the word “N***r” according to the leftwing MSNBC TV host.

“Republicans are using (the IRS scandal) as their latest weapon against the black man in the White House” said Bashir, who went on to say that “IRS” is the new “N***r.”

Ignoring admissions of wrongdoing by IRS officials in sworn testimony before Congress, Bashir said “Despite the complete lack of any evidence linking the President to the targeting of tea party groups, Republicans are using it as their latest weapon against the black man in the White House.”  (see his video above or HERE).

That is known as a “strawman” argument, where he focuses on something that nobody said, ie. no one (so far) has testified that “Barack Obama made me do it.”  Bashir is effectively saying, “lets close down any further investigation and leave the IRS to do as it wishes.”

Since the IRS is effectively muzzling conservative free speech by its stalling and delaying tactics with conservative groups which applied for non-profit status – keeping them waiting for years and demanding massive amounts of information which it has no business asking for, conservatives and Americans from all parts of the political spectrum have expressed outrage and a demand for investigation of the IRS.

Except for Martin Bashir, who simply insulted and smeared those who have already seen their free speech rights severely curtailed by the IRS.

Another nominee, also connected to the same scandal, is Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD).

Cummings said on last week’s Sunday TV talk shows claimed that everything is being exaggerated in the IRS scandal, and “based upon everything I’ve seen, the case is solved.  If it were me, I’d wrap this case up and move on,” said the Mrayland Democrat on CNN’s Candy Crowley TV talk show.

Rep. Darrell Issa, defending his House Committee’s work to investigate the IRS targeting of conservative organizations, criticized Cummings’ claim as “extreme and reckless.”  Issa, Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said that he believed Cummings’ motivation is to stop “need Congressional oversight” and that the Maryland Democrat “has no genuine interest in working, on a bipartisan basis, to expose the full truth.”

Tom Cranmer, one of the founders of the new monthly Freedom Leadership Conference series, suggested consideration of Elijah Cummings for the June 12 “Saul Alinsky Smear Conservatives Award.”  Cranmer, who will also speak at the June 12 conference, is celebrating a birthday this week.  Since he usually reads his email and this website a day or two behind everyone else we can confide here that he will be surprised with a birthday cake, candles and “Happy Birthday” singing at the start of the June 12 Conference.

To attend the June 12 conference, regardless of whether or not you intend to sing Happy Birthday to Tom Cranmer, who with his wife Linda are alumni of the conservative Young Americans for Freedom all the way back to the very early 1960’s, write RSVP@FreedomLeadershipConference.org.

The keynote speaker of the June 12 conference is John Guandolo, see previous articles on his appearance HERE.  The June freedom Leadership Conference is co-sponsored by “UnderstandingTheThreat.com” and by United States Intelligence Council.

To weigh in with your own opinion about who should win the “Saul Alinsky Smear Conservatives Award” you may write to LeftSmear@FreedomLeadershipConference.org.

Our resident expert on Saul Alinsky is David Denholm, President of Public Service Research Foundation.  Denholm will preside over a Leadership Council discussion over dinner with the keynote speaker at 5 PM on Wednesday, June 12 where they will decide on the award winner.  Cranmer will be asked to announce the winner at the private, members only conference, which starts with a coffee and desert social at 7 PM in Fairfax, Virginia.

The monthly conference series continues on July 17 at a private residence in northern Virginia to be sponsored by American Border Control (ABC) just as the House of Representatives is considering what liberals call “immigration reform” and which they call a proposal to “Legalize Illegals.”  ABC Executive Director Jon Moseley, who practices law in Northern Virginia and who currently resides in Florida, will be the keynote speaker at the July Conference, which will also consider nominations for a “Saul Alinsky Smear Conservatives” Award.
